on friendship
i'd really like to say, once more, that lester is my bffils: best friend forever in law school. but i recently gave more thought to it, and i think my real best friend in law school is mui kheng. well she was my first real friend in law school at any rate, plus she's a GIRL. it's a bit sad though, because if she was my first real friend in law school, i only found her in sem 2 of year 1. i therefore have absolutely no idea what i was doing in year 1 sem 1.

taken during the latern festival 2006 at a temple in toa payoh - her aunt had tickets to a funfair which was held there. the lights were really quite pretty.

girls always understand that much better, you think? i'm really glad she got a bsf class, we've now got dinners (i.e. talk alot of nonsense sessions about what looks set to be our non-legal futures) on thursdays to look forward to.

quentin ORDs today!! he's the last of the boys (almost - shannon doesn't really count, haha) to do so. and i'm feeling rather emo about it - i was smsing him just now about how we're all grown up now (as if).

so, gay as it is, this is a photo tribute to our friendship (again).

the first photo in the trinity is him at jo's surprise birthday party in j1, the second on the last day of acjc - he was the first person i saw that last day - and the last was taken in the heritage room after our last official choir performance in j2.
he's quite the same, really. just a bit fatter, perhaps. he was the one who introduced me to the wonders of black pepper chicken spaghetti from the western stall in the ac canteen and i was the one who, ahem, flourished as a result. it's quite comforting to know that he now sports a double chin and i don't.

i still can't believe they've all ORDed. this is part of the last ever sms he'll send me as an army boy, or any of my friends will send me as army boys, for that matter (bryan your MO time doesn't count alright):

"these two years has been a break from real life in a way, and after this it's pretty much serious work and growing up :) it's a good thing :)"

and so it is. but honestly, it seems like only yesterday they all had no hair and were starving to death in BMT. time really flies.
